You go on an amazing vacation or away for the weekend and slack off a little on eating healthy. You come back home and before you know it, motivation to exercise is no where to be found. Weeks pass, maybe even months. You just can’t seem to find the motivation to get back to that healthy routine you had.
Motivation can be a fickle friend.
Here is something you can try:
What a lot of people don’t realize is that the way we think about health and fitness can really impact our actions. Many people who struggle with sticking to living a healthy lifestyle are focusing on the wrong thing. They focus more on what they are giving up instead of what they gain from taking care of their bodies.
This exercise might help you focus on what we should be focusing on.
Take some time and think of how eating healthy and exercise has helped you. What have you gained from taking care of your body? Think of at least four things.
Once you have found your four things, write them down on a post it note or a piece of paper and put it somewhere in your house where you can see it EVERYDAY. This will be your daily reminder of what you gain/can gain from taking care of your body. Keep it up as long as you need it. May this be the first step in helping you change your mindset. May this help you focus more on what you have gained when you make health your top priority.
We deserve to feel good so we can truly enjoy life!
